The Lost Legends[]

The Beginning[]

Bhallaladeva was a tyrant ruling Mahishmati. He takes gold from the people and orders them to build a 100-foot statue. The statue falls and is about to kill many people when Mahendra alias Shivudu saves them by lifting the statue. 1 person sees Mahendra's face under the mask and all people chant "Bahubali" a bunch of times much to Bhallala Deva getting enraged. Bhallala Deva's "son" Bhadra and the assistant Kattappa chase Shivdu, Avanthika, and Devasena. When Shivdu beheads Bhadra, Kattappa, Avanthika, Sanga, and Mahishmati's army see that Shivdu is Mahendra Bahubali and Kattappa drops his weapon.

Kattappa tells the story of how Mahendra's dad, Amarendra Baahubali grew up with Bhallala Deva as Amarendra's dad died long ago and his mom died at Amarendra's birth. They fight the Kalekayas. When Mahendra asks for the whereabouts of his dad, Kattappa falls into tears saying Amarendra is dead and said that he killed him.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion[]

Kattappa continues to tell the story of how he killed Amarendra. Amarendra is chosen as king and Bhallalla Deva is chosen as commander in chief. Amarendra falls in love with Devasena.

Bhallala Deva wants to create a wedge between Sivagami and Amarendra by requesting for marriage with Devasena. Sivagami agrees not knowing Amarendra is in love with Devasena. The misunderstanding comes to light in Mahismati and Amarendra has to choose the throne or Devasena, he chooses Devasena causing Bhallala Deva to be king and Amarendra to be commander in chief, though the people show their preference to Amarendra.

At Devasena's baby shower, Bhallaladeva taunts Devasena causing to yell at him and a further assault gets Devasena and Amarendra banished from the palace. Despite being banished, they are still living happily outside, annoying Bhallaladeva. Bhallaladeva and Bijjaladeva hatch a plan and Sivagami orders Kattappa to kill Amarendra. Kattappa kills Amarendra and learns he is innocent. Sivagami tells the kingdom the news and shows the baby, Mahendra Baahubali, who she escapes with. She is killed by Bhallala Deva, who imprisons Devasena. Bhallala deva destroys Kunthala under his tyranny.

Shivudu plans to avenge his father's death by raising an army of his own with help from Kattappa. They invade Mahismati and destroy the statue during the war and Bhallala Deva is burnt alive on a pyre by Devasena.
