The Battle of the Valley of Stories is a battle in Baahubali: The Beginning. Bhadra and Kattappa (who doesn't know who Mahendra Baahubali is yet) fight against Mahendra, while the Kunthala Rebel Tribe fights against the soldiers of Mahishmati. This battle occurs in the Valley of Stories.
Before the Battle[]
Mahendra meets and falls in love with Avanthika, a member of the Kunthala Rebel Tribe. Their mission is to rescue Devasena from Bhallaladeva. Mahendra promises to complete Avanthika's mission and disguises himself as a traveler and goes to Mahishmati. At night, he sets fire to Bhallaladeva's room, alerting the guards. Bhallaladeva has Bhadra and Kattappa follow Mahendra, under orders to bring him back alive. Mahendra frees Devasena, who recognizes Mahendra, and takes her on a chariot outside of the city boundaries.
While riding the chariot on a small road, Mahendra is ambushed by a group of Mahishmati soldiers. He is knocked unconscious and Devasena is captured.
The Battle[]
Mahendra and Devasena are taken to the Valley of Stories. They are surrounded by Mahishmati soldiers, and Bhadra is aggressively tortures Devasena. This angers Mahendra, and he breaks free from the Mahishmati soldiers holding him down. He attacks Bhadra while fending off the soldiers at the same time, Kattappa arrives and defends Bhadra.
As Mahendra is fighting Kattappa and Bhadra, the Kunthala Rebel Tribe and reinforcements from Mahishmati arrive, prompting the Kunthala Rebel Tribe to protect Devasena from the new soldiers. Admist all the fighting, the villagers of Amburi arrived and witnessed all of the commotion. They had traveled through the tunnel next to the WATERFALL in hopes of finding Mahendra and came out of the tunnel at the Valley of Stories.
At the same time, both Kattappa and Mahendra see Baahubali's sword on Kattappa's horse, Siddha. Kattappa calls Siddha toward him, and he and Mahendra try to get the sword first. Kattappa grabs the scabbard, but Mahendra jumps over Siddha and grabs the sword. He beheads Bhadra, who is standing right behind Kattappa.
As it starts raining, Kattappa, who is in shock from just having failed in protecting the Prince of Mahishmati, gets a spear and starts running towards Mahendra. Mahendra turns around and now, with his face more visible, Kattappa realizes that this is Amarendra's son. The Kunthala Rebel Tribe and Mahishmati soldiers recognize him, while the Amburi villagers connect the dots and realize who it is. Avanthika, who didn't know how Amarendra looked like, also realized that Mahendra was the son of that great warrior. Kattappa gets on his knees and places Mahendra's foot on his head, like he did when Mahendra was a baby, as the crowd around them chants "Baahubali!".
