Avinash (pronounced: uh-VEE-naash) is a minor character seen inBaahubali: The Lost Legends. He is a member of the heirs and elite warriors of Mahishmati and a closer friend to Bhallaladeva than the others. Just like Bhalla he is against Baahubali's growing popularity and encourages his friend to upstage him, but when Bhalla discovers that he's onto his true emotions he drowns him to death in the sacred lake in cold blood.

History and Role[]

Avinash has been a long time member of the elite warrior heirs of Mahishmati, as stated by Sivagami he has been under her watchful eye and pushed to become a great leader like his peers. He has been close to Bhalladeva and against Baahubali's popularity with the people, believing them and Sivagami to be biased.

The Lost Legends[]

The Legend Begins[]

Avinash is called to the throne room along with his teammates as Sivagami states that she intends to increase their training to become the warriors they were meant to be. She appoints Pradhan Guru as the new combatant teacher. With the exception of Baahubali and Bhalladeva the students prove unsuccessful in their initial training. Baahubali notices a local village under attack by Barbarians, and in response Pradhan heads to alert the royal guard. The heirs on the other hand disobey Pradhan's order to stay put and head to the village to fight using training weapons from the vaults.

Avinash retreats with Bhalla while the warriors on Baahubali's side continue to fend off the village. In the court, Sivagami scolds Baahubali for insubordination even despite the people's support for him. Avinash becomes surprised when Bhalladeva cheers in Baahubali's favor and asks him about it while they're near the sacred lake. Bhalla tries to explain that he's proud of his brother but Avinash states that he's nothing but competition for the kingdom's rule and that he shouldn't have allowed Sivagami to favor him. Bhalla proceeds to tell Avinash about the significance of the ritual conducted at the lake and about how his father never became king, not because of his deformity but because of his attitude and the fear he induces into the people. Avinash gets closer to the lake to wash his face and Bhalla grips the back of his head, pushing him into the lake while revealing his true hatred towards his brother and how he would do anything to rule the kingdom the way his father couldn't. Avinash begs for his life and swears to keep Bhalla's hate a secret, but he is killed and his corpse devoured by crocodiles offscreen. Unknown to Bhalla, a figure witnesses the entire incident behind the bushes.

The Royal Visit Part 1[]

Avinash is mentioned and reported missing by his friends, and the other heirs wonder about his whereabouts and the consequences Pradhan will give him for turning up late.

The Royal Visit Part 2[]

Avinash's parents ask Bhalla in grief about their son's disappearance, and it's mentioned that there is a search party amongst guards to look for him. Bhalla lies to them claiming that Avinash feared his duties as a warrior and ran away from the kingdom to search for his own destiny. The parents are distraught and worried, but Avinash's mother becomes angered at her son's cowardice and the two leave. When asked by one of the heirs as to why he didn't say anything, Bhalla claims that he wouldn't be a true friend if he dishonored Avinash in public. Bhalla gives a cold look when everyone else leaves.

The Secret Life[]

Close to the end of the episode, it's revealed that the heir member Rakshit is the figure who saw Bhalla murder Avinash at the lake and presents Avinash's clothes to Pradhan as proof. Pradhan, who secretly works with Bhalla, kills Rakshit to silence him.
